Reasons behind Ronaldo's decision to leave Man Utd

Why did Christiano Ronaldo tell Man United he wants to leave!!

Champions league games would be a major reason why he wants to leave. Man United failed to qualify for Champions league game last season after finishing sixth in the league.

It is clear Ronaldo won't be playing Champions league matches as it would be the first time in his club career he won't be playing the champions league games as he has never played Europa League matches.

With this, the obstinate player might not want to end his remaining years on a bad tune which made him decided to leave the club.

On Friday 2nd of July, Ronaldo made it known to Man United board that he wants to leave the club if they get a suitable transfer for his position and if he gets a better proposal from other clubs as Bayern, Chelsea and Napoli are reported to have contacted his agent.
This news has generate a lot of turmoil in the media world as people says they were expecting him to do so as Man United had a disgraceful run last season which made them lose out in playing the champions league game next season.

Former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher tweeted:

Christiano Ronaldo joined his childhood club Man U back last year after leaving 12yrs ago and he had a successful run individually for a 37 yrs old footballer after registering 27G/A in all competitions but that wasn't enough to stop Man United most disappointing season since the establishment of the top tier Premier league and to also end Man United trophyless streak.

There are different speculations running around on why Ronaldo wants to leave Man united even though he still has a year more on his contract.

With Man United been on a trophyless streak for the past 5 years after winning the Europa League in 2017 under their former coach Jose Mourinho, Ronaldo might think he's no longer their Messiah as he wishes to win a lot more trophies before retiring.

Man United has said it before that Ronaldo is not available for transfer and is going nowhere as they expect him to be available next season under the new coach Erik Ten Hag, former Ajax coach.
